Whirlpool Whispure AP45030S Air Purifier Review

Filter Technology of the Model

&nbsp

Any Whirlpool air purifier is going to use the best technology on the market to help you with cleaning and
purifying your home. Since HEPA filters have consistently gotten the highest possible ratings from test
studies, this is the type of filter which the Whispure AP45030S will use. Only the HEPA filter has proven
to remove 99.97% of the contamination from the air which is 0.3 microns or smaller.

The CADR rating for the Whispure 450 stands at a remarkable 320 rating. Units of this size will usually not
rank this high, especially when the CADR rating relates to cigarette smoke.

By putting this unit into your home, you will be able to know that the clean air delivery rate is at 320,
much higher than any other unit available to purchase.

Everything from pollen, dust, and mold spores will be covered by this HEPA filter. Cigarette smoke, something
typically not treated well by many filters, will be removed from the air.

You should be able to breathe in an easier manner and not need to worry about the negative effects that tobacco
smoke will have on your body.

The carbon pre-filter is another outstanding feature of this Whispure unit. The pre-filter alone will help to
extend the life of the machine, capturing the largest particles and allowing the HEPA filter to operate for a
longer period of time.

Using the carbon in this filter, however, the presence of odor in the air will be broken down and slowly absorbed.
Your air, in an overall manner, will be cleaner and more fresh.

Area Covered by the Whirlpool Whispure 450 Air Purifier

This Whirlpool Whispure AP45030S should be able to give you almost 5 complete air changes in an hour. The more times that you
run air through your purifier, the cleaner it will naturally become.

Considering that this unit should be able to fit into a room of 450 square feet and treat the air with no problem, you
can rest assured that most spaces in your home will be given solid purification.

Maintenance Needed

The filter units will naturally need a regular replacement in order to make sure that your purifier is always running
strong. Unfortunately, these filters will need to be replaced at different times.

The carbon pre-filters generally need a treatment every 3 months, while the HEPA filter should be able to last for
around a year. The good news is that you will be able to make your replacement filter purchases at the same time.

The carbon replacements are sold in 4 packs, which will give you the easy ability to purchase them at the same time
as the HEPA filter and be set for the upcoming year.

Replacements for the carbon filters should cost around $25, while the HEPA filter will be about $70. This price may
seem high, but you should also remember that these purchases will only need to be made once per year.

Noise Levels

&nbsp

This Whispure 450 air purifier will run on 3 different speeds, giving you total control over the rate your air is cleaned at. The
faster you run the machine at, the louder the noise levels will be. Obviously, the slower speeds will be much quieter.

This unit has been rated by Energy Star, however, ensuring that you are using a machine which is energy efficient. You
will not need to worry about the adverse effects of running this unit.

Price and Warranty

This is a unit which will typically sell for $375. It also comes with a manufacturer's 1 year limited warranty, so the
unit itself should be protected against any internal defects which may arise.

As long as you operate this unit under recommended guidelines, however, this should not be something that you are risking
and you can have great purification always operating within your home.

Additional Features of Whirlpool Whispure AP45030S

Unit easily opens to allow filter replacement without the need for tools.
Purifier will indicate when the filters need to be replaced for best working condition.
The model is rather lightweight, making it easy to transport wherever you need it the most.

The Onix Eliminates Microorganisms Using Heat!

The Onix Eliminates Microorganisms Using Heat!

Yesterday, I got to take a look at the magnificent Airfree Onix air sanitizer and purifier. Instead of being like a regular air purifier, the Onix uses much less energy (only 52 watts, to be exact) and purifies using heat! This air santizer uses 400F heat instead of ozone or a UV light to purify air. In fact, the unit reduces the amount of ozone found in your air while it eliminates microorganisms. Additionally, the Onix from Airfree is so small and portable - it weighs a mere 3.3 pounds and measures less than 10 inches on all sides! This makes it perfect for bringing it over to friends or relatives' houses. The Onix works silently and requires no maintenance whatsoever because there are no moving parts, no fan, and no filters, making it one of the most perfect air purifiers out there on the market.Labels: air purifier, air purifiers, air_purifier_reviews, air_purifiers, green

Pet Owners ? The Benefits of Using an Air Purifier

More specs on: air particles ? pet allergies
With the popularity of household pets, there is a good chance that you are a pet owner, what type of pet or pets do you have? Popular household pets include cats and dogs. Unfortunately, with many household pets, including cats and dog, many pet owners develop allergies to their beloved pets. Are you one of those individuals?

Pet owners ? Things to consider
If you are allergic to your family cat or dog, or any other animal for that matter, what do you plan on doing? Unfortunately, a large number of individuals make the decision to get rid of their pets. While this will completely solve the problem, it can?t always be done. There are some individuals who love their pets too much to get rid of them. It may also be even harder to get rid of your family pet, especially if you have children. It has been noted that children attach quicker to family pets, when compared to everyone else. If this is the case with your pet and your family, you will not necessarily want to get rid of your pet, but you will need to look for alternatives.
One of the reasons why pet allergies are such as problem is because of the air particles that are created, from those pets. These particles often come from pet hair or droppings. To eliminate or reduce this problem, and maybe even your allergy, you will need to have cleaner air. While this may not sound like something that would be easy to do, the reality is that it actually is. All you really need to do is purchase an air purifier.
Purchasing an air purifier
The easy part is making the decision to purchase an air purifier. The hard part comes when you need to make the purchase. It has been noted that all air purifiers are effective at eliminating air particles caused by pets, but they are not all the same. That is why it is important that you know what you are buying. A little bit of research online and you will walk away well informed. It may also be a good idea to examine air purifiers that specifically mentioned pets on their boxes or in their product descriptions. These types of air purifiers are often better, when it comes to eliminating harmful pet pollutants from the air.
Although an air purifier can help, there are also some things that you may want to do. One of those things is keeping your pets in a specific area of your home. Everywhere that your pet travels, pollutants and air particles will be left behind. Unfortunately, most air purifiers are not designed to treat a whole house. In fact, many air purifiers can only control the air in one room, sometimes three rooms, at the most. Therefore, the less space you allow your pet to invade, the easier it will be for you to keep the air in your home clean.
In addition to improving your home?s air, you can also improve other indoor air. For instance, if you operate a business that is centered on pets, you may also be able to benefit from the use of an air purifier, especially those with a focus on pets. Essentially, this means that whether you are a vet, a pet sitter, or a pet groomer, you should not only be able to keep the air in your home clean, but also the air in your office. There is a good chance that you would not be the only one benefiting from the purchase of an air purifier. Your other employees, as well as your customers may also notice the improved air inside your office.

4 Ways to Tell How Effective Your Air Purifier Really Is

More specs on: airborne particulates ? carpet smells
Using an air purifier in your home or office to remove airborne pollutants that studies have shown to cause and aggravate respiratory conditions is a smart move.
What often makes using an air purifier so confusing is trying to determine whether your cleaner is helping or hurting your indoor air quality. Here are 4 ways to tell for sure. What you see-If you are seeing airborne particulates when the sun shines at a certain angle through your windows, or if you furniture and floors continue to have a coat of dust regardless of how often you clean, your air is dirty.

Air purifiers real facts
Once the particules you can see fall out of the air there are still particles that are light enough to remain in the air to enter your body through your mouth or nose. If you are filtering your air and continue to see this sort of thing, it is an indication that it is not helping to the extent that you need it to. What you smell-One of the best way to determine how your indoor air smells is to take a walk around the block, or run an errand. Take note about the smell upon entering.
Odors free with an air purifier
If you bought a purifier to get rid of smoke, or cat or dog urine, new carpet smells or paint and there are still tell tale odors remaining when you walk inside, it is likely that you have a filter that does not address odors at all, or at least not the ones with which you are having a problem. What you spend-Even if your cleaner is doing the job you want it to, but is costing you a fortune because of power consumption, it?s hurting your pocket book. If it requires frequent and costly filter changes, it?s likely that you will not continue to filter to air because of the expense.
Air cleaners makes you feel better?
And if it is just eating up your valuable time with maintenance such as washing, recharging, and spraying, it is effectively changing your lifestyle but not for the good. Both time and money add up over the life of your purifier and improving your health by removing airborne pollutants shouldn?t be at the expense of other resources such as time and money. How you feel-If you are filtering your air, or even thinking about it, more than likely it is an attempt to help you feel better and to get relief from asthma or allergies that may be seasonal or ongoing.
Air cleaners ? does it filter enough?
So, for example, if exposure to cat dander makes your eyes water and your eyes water when you walk into the space that is being filtered, it?s a pretty clear indication that not enough of the pollutants are being removed to give you relief. In order for an air purifier to really effectively remove indoor particulates and odors, it needs to have numerous filters. The first 2 should be large and medium particle pre-filters that trap many of the particles you can see. The third filter should be a high efficiency particle arresting (HEPA) filter that will remove particulates (invisible to the naked eye) down to sub micron size (.3 microns).
In addition it should always have an inner filter that can remove gases, odors, and chemicals as well. This combination of filters assures that your air purifier is improving your indoor air quality and overall health, thus helping rather than hurting you.

Ionic Air Purifier ? Lack of Scientific Peer Reviews

If you're new here, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed. Thanks for visiting!Millions of dollars change hands every year in the ionic air purifier industry. An essential tool to improve indoor air quality, the ionic air purifier inactivates airborne microscopic viral and bacterial organisms, animate and inanimate allergens, gaseous chemicals and possibly radioactive radon.
Unofficial Endorsement
Manufacturers in the ionic air purifier industry pour millions into R&D to prove their claims. Institutes and universities are tasked to conduct multi-faceted studies. Well-known virologists and air quality experts are commissioned to conduct various experiments to verify manufacturers? claims.
Yet other manufacturers of the ionic air purifier look to non-profit third parties with interests in promoting indoor air quality. Various attestations are sought after from non-profit organizations like the American Lung Association, the Asthma & Allergy Foundation of America, the Association of Home Appliance Manufacturers (AHAM) and the Asthma Society of Canada.
User organizations like the Parent Tested Parent Approved Media may also provide some measure of attestation, as the manufacturer of an air purifier demonstrates. It is only a matter of time before manufacturers of the ionic air purifier follow suit.
Official Endorsement Lacking
Despite all the efforts by the ionic air purifier industry, why do we not find any official endorsement? Authorities are mindful of the dangers of polluted indoor air quality. In fact the US EPA officially states that indoor pollution may be 2 to 5 times worse than ambient air pollution. It also says that we spend 90% of our time indoors. Yet, why do they not endorse the ionic air purifier as an essential tool? This question was posed to the US National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH).
Scientific peer review, or rather the absence of, was the response. Fortunately, the authorities have not written of the ionic air purifier industry. Click on our Ezine Article via the widget on the right to:
read what the NIOSH said about the stringent requirements for a scientific peer review; and
find out how the NIOSH will provide funding for a scientific peer review.
The ionic air purifier industry should capitalize on this great opportunity. It may take only one successful scientific peer review to lead the pack!
What Can Consumers Do?
As it is, things are not ideal. What can users of the ionic air purifier do? Do systematic and thorough homework. That?s where our Ionic Air Purifier Review ? 4 Key Factors Model is relevant. It is especially encouraging that for a scientific peer review to be accepted by any authority, it will have to cover the 2 safety aspects in our model. For NIOSH said:
??a scientifically valid study would need to be designed to test whether ion generators are effective in killing viruses to the extent that a hazard no longer remains, and that such technology does not by itself generate new hazards of its own, e.g., ozone or oxidized by-products. The design of such a study would be challenging.?

Sharp Plasmacluster Air Purifier - Sharp FP-P60CX Air Cleaner

Technology Used

&nbsp

In the Sharp FP-P60CX model, you will find 3 main types of technology which will give you the best chance of
total purification in your environment. You should be most pleased by the presence of a True HEPA filter,
which is both long lasting and effective.

As you use a True HEPA, you will find that 99.97% of contamination from your air will be removed, as long as
it is 0.3 microns or larger. This will result in the typical allergens being removed along with smaller
particles like bacteria or mold.

A washable carbon filter works on reducing the effects of odors as well. The carbon compounds in this filter
can break down the organic elements which turn into odors and slowly absorb them.

The longer you run this purifier in a space with odor, the more quickly you will begin to reduce that odor.
This typically results in a more comfortable environment.

Ion generation will additionally help you rid more negative elements from your home. By releasing both positive
and negative ions into the air, you can cause polarization that will deactivate contaminates in your air.

This should result in a healthier environment from viruses and germs as well as trace chemical and gas presences.
On top of this, fresh ions being released into the air can simulate the environment after rain, helping your air to
feel more fresh as you breathe it, which turns into a great sense of comfort.

Area Covered

When you use this Sharp plasmacluster air purifier, you could receive up to 330 square feet of clean area. This is good for medium to
larger size rooms as well as a certain area of a smaller house.

Using this type of purifier should help you to make a more comfortable environment for everyone in your household,
which can prove to be a great benefit for your purchase.

Maintenance Needed

Naturally, however, using a Sharp Plasmacluster air purifier will require maintenance often. The filter life should
thankfully last for up to 5 years, which will greatly reduce the money you end up spending on replacement filters,
which can be expensive. The internal indicator will alert you when the filters will need to be changed.

The washable carbon filter will need maintenance, however, to keep it working properly. Warm soap and water should
remove all of the contamination building up in this filter and restore it to its natural state. This will help you
maintain the high air quality of your home from both particles and odor.

Noise Levels and Energy Use

&nbsp

This purifier will come with 4 different fan speeds ranging from Silent to High. The silent mode will run without making noise
and although it won't purify as quickly, it will still give you 28 cubic feet of cleaning per minute. The fastest fan speed can
clean up to 212 cubic feet per minute, making it a fast and noisy operation.

This purifier is energy efficient, however, being given approval from Energy Star. The fastest fan speed will use only 72 watts
of energy and the lowest one consumes only 4 watts.

This means that you can use this purifier without having to worry about high power bills or using more power than you should.

Price and Warranty

While this model comes with only a 1 year limited warranty, which is much shorter than the filter life itself, it also offers
a high level of service that you can depend on.

The retail price ranges between $300 and $400, depending on the retailer, meaning that if you do smart shopping, you could
find a great deal.

While the filter replacement pack could run you $150, it is a purchase that you should only make once every 5 years, making
this a very wise choice.

Additional Features

A timer will allow you to program this model to automatically shut off after a certain length of time.
Auto mode will operate the purifier as the air quality needs it.
Colored lights will indicate the state of the air quality as it samples it.

Sharp Air Purifier Review ? Efficacy of Plasmacluster Ion Technology

If you're new here, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed. Thanks for visiting!A little dynamo best describes theheart of Plasmacluster Ion technology. Continuing our Sharp air purifier review, we bring into focus the high concentration Plasmacluster Ion generator. Measuring only 57mm by 28.5mm by 15.5mm, the little gadget produces the critical reactive agents.
Plasmacluster Ion Generator

Overview of Plasmacluster Ion Technology
By the application of positive and negative voltages to discharge electrodes in the Plasmacluster Ion generator, plasma is formed. Plasma is often described as the fourth state of matter after solid, liquid and gas. It is a partially ionized gas-like state wherein some electrons are free and not bound to an atom or molecule. Natural water molecules in the plasma are decomposed into positive hydrogen ions and negative oxygen ions. Other water molecules in the air cluster around the hydrogen ions and oxygen ions forming the distinctive and stable Plasmacluster Ions. Upon contact with the surfaces of pathogens, Plasmacluster Ions are transformed into hydroxyl radicals which are highly reactive but unstable. This characteristic causes the hydroxyl to combine with hydrogen atoms on the surface membrane of the pathogen. The result; a disabled pathogen and a harmless by-product, water. Simply perfect! But is it real?
Plasmacluster Ion ? Fact or Fiction?
A serious Sharp air purifier review cannot avoid asking the inevitable ? are Plasmacluster Ions fact or fiction? As with many other products rapidly emerging from the field of nanotechnology, Plasmacluster Ions are invisible to the naked eye. And the individual air purifier user has no means to verify its authenticity. One obvious verification method is to view the results of using Plasmacluster Ions. This is done in 2 ways, in the laboratory (efficacy test) and in the real world (efficiency test).
An established corporate player with a long track record of successes, Sharp has anticipated these concerns. It has developed to an art what they term as academic marketing. This is the collaborative research approach to product marketing, whereby the effectiveness of Plasmacluster Ion technology is verified based on scientific data developed in conjunction with leading academic research institutions. The data forms the basis of new products introduced to the market. Sharp has fine-tuned the definition of effectiveness into efficacy and efficiency. Between 2000 and July 2009, it focused on efficacy testing. It has begun and is developing efficiency testing with end users of Plasmacluster Ion technology.
Plasmacluster Ion ? Authentication at Cellular Level
Digging deeper for this Sharp air purifier review, we found that Sharp had gone beyond the typical efficacy and efficiency tests of the industry. On 17 November 2004, Sharp announced the results of studies by Professor Gerhard Artmann of the Department of Cell Biophysics and Bioengineering, University of Applied Sciences, Germany. A leading authority in the field of cellular engineering, Professor Artmann through the use of an electron microscope found that Plasmacluster Ions damaged more than 60 protein types on the cell membrane of pathogens leading to inactivation of the cells (both bacteria and viruses were tested).
Another significant finding was that Plasmacluster Ions do not penetrate the pathogen cell membrane to impact the cell DNA. This is claimed as an advantage over other air purification technologies like those using ultra-violet light which rely on DNA destruction to work. The risk of UV light exposingusers to cancer from DNA damage was subtly implied.
Plasmacluster Ion ? Efficacy Tests
This current Sharp air purifier review highlights the efficacy tests that Sharp has conducted, together with several organizations, on various pathogens. Conducted over the years from September 2000 to July 2009, the tests have proven that Plasmacluster Ions are effective in removing 28 kinds of harmful airborne microorganisms. The most significant of pathogens are the deadly SARS virus, the virulent H5N1 avian flu virus, an earlier variant of the H1N1 virus which recently re-surfaced in Mexico and MRSA, the notorious bacterium responsible for difficult-to-treat infections in hospital patients.
Other viruses which have been destroyed by Plasmacluster Ions include coxsackie virus (causes colds), feline coronavirus, polio virus. Equally susceptible have been bacteria like serrata bacterium, enterococcus, staphylococcus, sarcina, micrococcus, bacillus subtilis, pseudomonas, escherichia coli, white staphylococcus and candida. Mites, mite dust (dead mites and mite feces), allergens and pollen have also been effectively dealt with together with fungi like cladosporium, aspergillus, penicillium, stachybotrys, alternaria, mucor and aspergillus.
The organizations, some of which conducted multiple tests, were:
- Harvard School of Public Health, USA
- Retroscreen Virology, Ltd., London, UK
- Asthma Society of Canada
- University of Lbeck, Germany
- CT&T, Aachen University of Applied Science, Germany
- Seoul University, Korea
- Shanghai Municipal Center for Disease Control and Prevention, China
- Ishikawa Health Service Association, Japan
- Kitasato Research Center of Environmental Sciences, Japan
- Kitasato Institute, Medical Center Hospital, Japan
- Graduate School of Advanced Sciences of Matter, Hiroshima University, Japan
The most recent test reported on 27 July 2009 was conducted by Osaka City University Medical School to validate the inhibitory effects of Plasmacluster Ions on allergic reactions caused by mite allergens.
Wrapping up our Sharp air purifier review on efficacy tests, we would highlight that a key factor is that they were conducted by organizations which have attained GLP (Good Laboratory Practices) status, an OECD guideline that attests the reliability of tests results produced. GLP status has to be renewed every 3 years. GLP is an important factor that is often ignored by critics of air purification technologies. Another crucial fact ? it is definitely possible for the work of a GLP laboratory to be peer reviewed scientifically. That, we know, is the key missing piece in the puzzle of air purification technologies, including Plasmacluster Ion technology!
